Attached is an image comparing the screen size of the Late 2011 17-inch MacBook Pro A1297 to the 2021 16-inch MBP.

My 17” mostly works fine with an aftermarket SSD and OpenCore macOS Catalina but I can’t use FCPX on it because I had to disable the discreet Nvidia GPU.

To anyone who has waited a decade for Apple to launch a large-screened laptop, the 16” 2021 makes a compelling case to upgrade.

yep one cannot edit 8k footage on the 2011.

These new Macs are meant for Pros or for peopl with money.

The M1 MacBook Air is fine for 90% of people.

Wow a blast from the past. Those 17” models were very nice when they came out. It’s crazy how you can now get a 16” for less money (moderately spec’d)
