Hi,

I just received a used 17" 1Ghz Powerbook G4 that I bought on eBay. Upon booting up, after the grey screen with the Apple logo, the machine starts flashing different crazy things on the screen for a second or two before the blue desktop comes up. The machine seems to function normally after that. Does this have something to do with a faulty logic board? It has happened on both my boot-up tests so far.

TIA.

Actually it's an issue with a loose cable between the display and the logic board. The logic board works and you can tell if the chime rings on the computer.

Thanks for your input guys. I tried resetting the PRAM and that didn't seem to help, so it must be the loose cable. Is this an issue you've seen many times before princealfie?

Thanks.
