2 pairs of airpods connected to the same phone?

Has anyone tried connecting 2 pairs of airpods to the same phone and playing audio simultaneously through time? Could be a limitation that only allows one device to be active at once, but I think would be a great feature if it was supported to be able to share music, or podcasts with someone.

You can only choose one audio output at a time I think. Cool idea though.
