I bought a 2011 MBP 15 with a failed gpu that i successfully fixed with the efi workaround but it also has a bad keyboard (G-L) wont work f barley works. i decided to take a look at the ribbon cables and make sure everything was connected correctly and when i put it back together it wouldn't power up at all, Green light on the magsafe sleep light blinks every second fans kick after every blink. I finally got it to boot but only after i unplugged the trackpad cable, WHY? does it boot only after the track pad is disconnected.

It is my understanding that keyboard and power cables are routed through some of the trackpad's circuitry.

I had a mid-2013 Air that refused to boot but did charge. When I disconnected the battery, trackpad, and connected the charger, it turned on by itself. After I shut it down, I reconnected the trackpad and everything is back to normal.
