Why do logic boards fail when installing El Capitan? I seem to have had an instant failure on my 2012 27" iMac. Any ideas? Machine is not used frequently and am quite disappointed. Plus the fact my 17" MacBook Pro just had a logic board failure. Getting tired of this.

They don't. There is absolutely no way an OS update would break a logic board. If you had a logic board failure when you updated to El Capitan it was purely a coincidence.
