Hi. Just wondering if I should upgrade my 2012 MBP from 1TB SSD to 2TB or 4TB? A new MBP will cost me $4,000+. May consider upgrading next year 2022 and keep my 2012 as a backup machine. Currently my 1TB is almost full. I bought a S20 Plus Android recently so I will be shooting more 4K content and photos/backups are larger. It took 5 years for me to just about fill up my 1TB (previous to Oct S20+ buy). A new Samsung SSD 2TB would be $254 and 4TB $529 (before black friday sales).

Does your optical drive still work? If not replace it with a second SSD using OWC's DataDoubler and a 1TB SSD
