2016 15" rMBP with LG 5K hangs when resumes from sleep

If I use my external monitor the LG 5K with the 2016 15" rMBP it will always (90% of the times) hand while resuming from Sleep, if I do not use an external monitor everything works fine, any idea on how to fix it or possible root cause? Thanks

I had this same issue on my 2013" rMBP, but that was with the Sierra beta. I don't know if it was ever fixed since I stopped using an external monitor. This was in clamshell mode.
