Did anyone get an email from Apple with 3 free extra months of Apple TV+? I got this email yesterday. The free year was set to expire November 1st.

I didn't think I would get an extension but I got the email late last week. A nice bonus.

The email I got said UNTIL FEBRUARY so I assume that means Feb 1. So my extension is really about 2 months

I would suspect that the date the additional time expires depends on the date that your original subscription was to expire. So for me, it was set to Dec 16, 2020, it will now be Feb 16, 2020 (won't likely update the actual information until the first date expires).

The offer never said 3 months... it just said it was extending it... those who were due to expire basically now are getting around 3 months extra.

My free trial now shows ending on Feb 1, 2021. Originally was to end on Nov 1, 2020. Finally updated to the new date last night.

Mine was extended by a month from end Jan to end Feb. It does seem that anyone who had an expiry prior to Feb next year is simply being extended, by whole calendar months, into February.

All the threads on here (and there's more than this one) only talk about "3 month extensions" because most people started their free period in Nov 2019.

Just got an email. Getting another free year with the purchase on my 12 Pro. Nevermind, I can't get mine to add a year to my current free trial. The offer is good for 3 months after activation. I will cancel current free plan when it expires and see if I can add it again for a year.

You may not be able to do that... :(

• Offer cannot be combined with other free trials or offers for Apple TV+.

• Only one offer per Family, regardless of number of devices purchased.

• Offer must be claimed in the Apple TV app within 3 months after first setting up your new device.
Thanks. Stupid of Apple to send me that email to my email address that currently has a 1 year free subscription. Why offer me something I can't have?

It's called a mass emailing... they just send it to anyone purchasing a qualifying product. The contents of the promo specify whether it applies to you or not. Which in your case, it does not.

It's like all the junk mail that arrives at your mailbox each week... mass advertisements that 99.9% of the population don't want.

It's not hard for a tech company like Apple to be able to cross reference and prevent current free subscribers from getting a useless email that doesn't apply to them. I wonder how many people will call them wondering why they cant get the added free year with their new purchase after receiving that email. Just ties up CS reps for no reason.

They probably know who bought the phone, but not who it was bought for. Not only could you have bought it for someone else, but you could also have bought it for yourself to use with a totally new Apple ID.
