The Xs has 3+1GB if they haven’t changed that pattern for portrait mode enabled iPhones. It uses the 1GB exclusively for the camera. People forget that quite often.
Not just for the camera. If you watch memorytests between a 2gb iPhone 8 and other iPhones with 3gb you notice a real difference.

Apple very frugal on RAM because that the only thing that keeps the iPhone from lasting longer. RAM is so cheap now too!

If Apple gave you 8GB DRAM it would be so future proof that you will never buy another iPhone. Does that sound like something Apple have ever done or will ever do? Nope. Just look at how many generations of iPhones were stuck on deficient 1GB DRAM.

EverythingApplePro probably confused it with his Galaxy Note 9 8GB/512GB.

What people fail to understand is more RAM on a iphone does mean bigger epenis.

IOS has super memory management- much better than android. hence the less ram compared to android mobile devices.

Apple also has said in the past that they have to balance out dram power usage vs capacity vs battery life. it all goes hand in hand. 4gb for next 2-3 years is plenty for iphones.

Note 9 territory and yes on average day using 4.5GB and 512 is reserved for system.

Apple seems to think 1GB RAM uses enough battery to make a difference.

Better memory management? Takes longer to load and reload apps sorry to say. Good PR though to sell their view. And aggressively sleeping apps in the interest of battery savings. Which hurts reloading.

I like having iPhone X but the Note is what I spend more time on. And use in DeX environment - where extra memory (6-8GB) matters - compared to Galaxy S8+.
