iPhone 6S+ Horizontal Keyboad Shortcuts?

In earlier versions of iOS, there were a whole variety of useful shortcuts; punctuation, copy/paste etc on the plus keyboard when turned vertical. It was incredibly handy?

Now? Inexplicable empty space. I can’t find any setting to revert this and it’s very disappointing.
