Next week, my kid turns 14 and my plan has been to get them a 6th gen iPad WIFI with 128 GB memory, which for the summer sold for $329 ($100 off) through all the usual places. I decided to wait until the new iPads were announced, hoping for another price drop, but instead they jumped to $379 ($50 off).

So here's my question: is this normal, and will I be able to find a 128GB WIFI 6th Gen new at a discounted price once the 7th becomes the standard? Any tips or ideas? I see Amazon has them, but only refurbs. Thanks, everyone.

In general, they don't really go much lower than $100 off. $130 tops. They'll probably go down again but next week is iffy. If you do get refurb, try the Apple Certified Refurbished section.

Good color is $329.99 at Amazon now if you choose no rush free shipping which gives a discount at checkout. Hurry.

They’re probably raising prices before the holidays so they can drop it again.
