While updating my bootcamped Windows 8 Pro x64, I tried to update my Nvidia drivers to the latest for my GTX-670 (PC) v344.65 WHQL. Untill v335.52 WHQL this has always been a no-brainer execution.

But today, during the install of 344.65 my MP BSOD'ed serveral times and I got the following message: "System Thread Exception Not Handled (Nvlddmkm.sys)"

I just forgot to check the 8800GT MAC's maximum driver release! That's version 340.52, my bad!

Ah well, another lesson learned and liking a MVC flashed GTX more every day!

Just thought I'd share this 'newbie' error with ya! ;)

Single card makes a Mac Pro owners life much easier. I have a couple of 8800 gt and gt 120 around I kept after doing upgrades to clients for just in case my flashed 680 goes wrong. I presume you are waiting for the 980 to press that button on MVC's store:D

8800GT Mac + GTX-670 PC -> BSOD (Nvlddmkm.sys)

10-4 Roger that! ;-)

EDIT: I'm going to replace the 8800GT with my ancient original MP 3,1 ATI 2600, so I can upgrade the GTX-670 to the latest driver package. The ATI will only be used for bootscreen and mantenace connected to the 19" Syncmaster.

Best of both worlds combining the Red and Green cards! ;)

Cheers
