Hello all,

I recently added in a Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe M.2 to my 2010 Mac Pro (5,1) via a PCIe Card in one of my internal slots. Since installing, the card will be listed as an external drive on my desktop then minutes after starting (or restarting) my machine it will show that it has been improperly ejected (typical notification) however I didn't do anything to eject.

I have checked power/sleep settings - all OK.
Have tried in 2 different PCIe slots - same and same
Have uninstalled and reinstalled the card - no difference

The SSD is formatted to APFS if that makes a difference?

I'm a little frustrated and can't seem to find the answer to this or even the proper question to ask/search for..

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks!

Hi can I ask what PCie card did you use for the mac pro 5,1?

I am looking to expand my 5,1.

Thanks
