what about the Merom or 32-bit Core Duo chips
The ME is part of the chipset for pre-Nehalem CPUs.
If it's a 945 chipset: no ME.
If it's a 965 or later chipset: hello world ME.

But the question remains whether ME on its own, i.e. without AMT and an Intel NIC, can do a lot of harm.

such as the early/mid/late 2006 models
The Core Solo/Duo/667 MHz FSB “Merom” Core 2 Duos use the 945 chipset.

so if the late 2008 -late 2010 Nvidia gpu macs all have nvidia chipsets which im assuming they do then they dont have IME and vPro?

The late-2009/mid-2010 iMacs and 15in/17in MBPs with a Core i3/i5/i7 have Intel chipsets.
Those with a Core 2 Duo have Nvidia chipsets.
