Able to upgrade existing XP to Vista?

Hey guys,

I just recieved my Vista RC1 serial and I am curious if I will have to reformat my Windows partition, or if I can just upgrade it from the current XP partition?

I don't personally see why this would matter, but I figure I'd ask before I attempt it.

I don't want to have to reinstall WoW again is basically what it comes down to :X

If your XP partition is NTFS then it should upgrade with no problems-- in fact that's the only way I was able to get Vista running on my Mac Pro-- install XP first, then run the vista installer over top of XP.

It worked perfectly. I was about to install via formatting and wiping the drive, but the Upgrade option was greyed out. Did it within XP and worked fine.

The starup disc pref pane doesnt work anymore though in VIsta, which is kindof expected. Holding option on boot isnt bad though
