iPad Activation lock being triggered by iOS 11 rollout?

I manage about 80 ipads and they share only 5 icloud accounts. Most of them have tvos installed to prevent software updates and they are all on some variation of ios 10. Since tuesday, I have had about 10 of them go to activation lock. All they needed from there was the icloud credentials and they went back to what they were doing. Some people said they were reading emails or in excel and it just went white and asked for icloud info. Any one else experiencing this? It is causing major problems since we do not give out this info to the users. I have been making a lot of road trips.
