I’ve had this issue for a while now. I don’t recall if it started before OS 8 but it’s at least been through the entire beta cycle of 8.0. Restarting the watch solves it for a bit but it always comes back. Same with removing and re-adding the face.

Anybody else seeing this? I follow the iOS beta threads but I’m not even sure there’s discussion in this section regarding betas and I don’t recall having seen it mentioned over there.

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

unpair/re-pair (I know it's a pain...)
ha e you tried other, digital faces?
I did that recently when I was getting pairing errors with Fitness+. Same thing. I also did a full reset.

What do you mean other digital faces? The rings shows normally in the complication on other faces if that’s what you meant.

What are the chances of me losing activity data if I do that? I lost almost three year’s worth of data at one point and I’m terrified of it happening again.
activity data is synced to your iPhone, and backed up to iCloud unless you specifically uncheck that box.
it's the same as getting a new watch ...

you're say "activity faces" - I don't use any of those 2 faces you have in your photos, does the occur on any other face?

Setting up as new seems to have resolved the issue. It also made me realize how janky my watch was running previously. Notifications pop up much more smooth and quick. Doesn't seem like I lost anything either.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I am experiencing the same issue. It has been reported to Apple. Senior customer consultant follows up on the problem.

The problem occurred after watchOS 8.
