I had to internet restore after a disastrous attempt to install a bug ridden Monterey. I reverted "back" to Catalina
Since than I have 2" shadow" volume. The one takes up space but can't really be opened. I can eject it, but after the next reboot it is back.
In disk utility the Caution " disk...." volume has the little "finder" logo attached. This is the only disk that should be there!! The second volume, Monterey .... has a 'home" logo???? This volume seems to have no function??
I managed to erase the 3 volume but it still shows as backup.
As especially the "home" volume takes up half the free space, I would like to get rid of it for good.
If I where to make a time machine backup, will it not recreate all the volumes, especially as I can't de-select them??
Same for CCC??
As said this was a clean install (whipped ssd> internet install> manual transfers of data from backups!
