Dear MacRumors Community!

The download & update to iOS 7.1 was successful. Well more or less. My iPhone 5s made no problems, everything works fine. Except the iPad Air (WiFi, 32GB). After the update to iOS 7.1 the red '1' badge on the settings app stayed stuck. (See image below)

Here my solution tries:

- Checking via Settings-Software-Update or/and Info, if I have the latest iOS version installed - I have iOS 7 (Build:11D167) installed
- System reset (Home & standby button pressing) - No change
- Restore from iCloud backup - No change
- Restore from iTunes backup - No change

The only thing, which worked as a 'soluation' was a restore to a new device. Unfortunately I have to re-sync all my stuff manually. This is very disburbing/frustrating and I now decided to wait for a fix, iOS 7.1.1!

In advance I thank you for any help!

Worked ok on my iPad 3. Could it be a 64bit think on the Air ?
Maybe add a poll with several model having issue to get a better picture.

How do I add a poll?

You might need to create a new thread; in thrower part of the initial posting screen is an option to add poll.
I think you can't add in existing threads; maybe a mod can help ...
One you have a new thread make a final posting here with the link and let this one get closed by a mod.

iOS 7.1 - System Badge Icon Stuck

Hello,

I updated iOS 7.1 for 7.0.6 for the following devices:

  • iPhone 5S
  • iPhone 5
  • iPad Air

My wives iPhone 5 still has an badge notification of 1 for the System app. I checked and it shows iOS 7.1 has been installed. I've tried rebooting the devices and that didn't help. Even within the System App I do not see the 1 notification anywhere just the badge icon on the home screen.

I looked in the notification area and you can't turn of badge icons for the System App which is understandable since they want people to update right away.

I really want to avoid a reset and restore of the device to fix this problem, any recommendations?

Thanks

That would skew the poll results to a less-than-100%-have-this-problem, so this option is removed for consistency.

Problem with that, however, is the rest of the community can't see the results without incorrectly claiming a device has the issue

Additional info:

I did the DFU restore last night, and the upgrade notification went away. However, when I then restored my backup to the phone the notification came back. So, it's something that is backed up that is causing the issue.

OTA software update badge stuck even though 7.1 installed

Hi guys and girls,

OTA software update badge stuck on the settings app even though 7.1 installed. This is on my iPad Air and iPhone 5. Any help would be great, I have already hard reset both devices and still didn't fix it.

Sorry Shawn, as of this minute the only fix is to do a DFU restore on your device and then set it up as new again. It's a BS fix, and I guess we're stuck with waiting for 7.1.1.

My issue is on an iPhone 5. Other search results mention this happening on older versions of iOS with upgrades to newer iOS versions not fixing the issue so I'm not holding my breath.
