My reasoning is this: I’ve always stuck with the xs, 11 pro, 12 pro, 13 pro, 14 pro, instead of the larger sized versions due to the weight. After all, I found that in a typical year, I check my phone 50,000 times. Thats a lot of pick-ups, carrying everywhere, holding, etc. The weight matters, to me. The size wasn’t so much the issue, in fact, I absolutely love the 11 Pro Max size AND weight. 6.5” is perfect imho… so as you can see from the attached photo, the 14 pro max is 24o grams, whereas the 11 pro max was 226 grams. My hope is that with the addition of titanium, the weight will drop in the 15 Pro Max to something between that 200-226 grams range.

What do you guys think, will the weight drop or will Apple figure out a way to pack other ‘features’ onto the phone, making it still pretty weighty?

Both my 6s+ and my 11 Pro Max are slightly on the lighweight side to me. I much prefer the weight of my old 6+. Apple could stand to make them a little heavier I think.

But, I'm not handling my phone as a substitute computer/media device so unlike you it doesn't get picked up as frequently. I would suspect that if Apple gets rid of anything with the 15PM that it'll be lighter. I say that because Apple removed the 3D Touch hardware with the 6s+ and the 6s+ is somewhat lighter than the 6+.

If MAX gets any bigger I’m going regular “Pro”
This time.
My wrists are starting to hate me after 15 years of smartphone usage. I'm considering doing the same, especially with the titanium frame this year. It's gotten to the point I've even considered the non-pro 14 lol.

I went from 12 max to 13 max to 14 pro. Fits in my cup holder lol, better for pockets being a guy.
I used to get 2 days with the max so easily get 1 day with the pro battery.
Camera is the same and I have a iPad 11" if need bigger.

After 33 years of using a mouse, my right wrist still does not hate me. And I sit in front of a computer for 16+ hours a day (only eight of those for work). Now I don't use my iPhone as a computer/media device/game machine (I have several computers right in front of me all day) so there'e no way my wrist is ever going to hate me over using a phone.

;)

How so?

I wear Dickies carpenter shorts and pants all year and sometimes I still have problems with my 6s+ and my 11 Pro Max going sideways in the back pocket. I don't have any issues trying to get them into or keep them in my pants/shorts pockets.

15 pro for me since the 14Pro feels like a brick. Best weight/feel was from the 11Pro

I use my phone almost exclusively one-handed. That's near impossible with the Pro.

The size/weight sucks, too. I'm a slim guy and wear well-fitting clothes; the max just doesn't fit.

Like OP I loved the size of the XS Max (same size and weight as the 11 Pro Max). It was perfect. However, I got the 13 Pro Max and got used to the additional weight (and size) within a week.

Not a big deal imo. Still can use it 95% one handed as well (XS Max was 100%)

Will be upgrading to the 15 Pro Max as well

I went from 8+ to 12 pro max, I was afraid I would hate it but I loved it. Got the 14PM with no hesitation. I will get either the 15PM, or “ultra” if they go that route, even if it’s bigger than the pro max. I apparently just love having a big phone. I’m a woman that doesn’t carry a purse (apple magsafe wallet!), so I just have to buy my pants carefully and make sure I have enough pocket space.

I also had a similar "horrifying" thought, that I might go with Pro Max if I upgrade. I am totally fine with the size of my 12 Pro. But, I really really would like a better camera experience and I'm a bit eager to have the periscopic lens which I hear would again still be only available for Pro Max line. OMG, is the Pro Max going to be too big?

I'm going to try and see. I really like the size of the Pro line though. I've felt the Pro Max lines have been too large for me... :(

I love my regular Pro, but the battery life leaves me wanting to get the Max this time around. Sigh....my 13 Pro doesn't even last until noon, and all I am doing is reading eBooks on the bus.

I've gone back and forth since the iPhone 6+. I love the ProMax screen and battery, but one-handed use is difficult with the larger models. I went from the 11 Pro Max to the 13 Pro Max to the 14 Pro. Loving the slightly more manageable 14 Pro size, and I do not (yet) miss the extra battery capacity. I do miss that big gorgeous screen though as my tired old eyes can use those extra pixels. But the 14 Pro is still decent size so the adjustment has been minor.

When I went from the 11 PM to the 13PM my wife immediately commandeered the 11PM, giving herself an upgrade from the standard iPhone 7 she insisted was "good enough." Now she says she'll never go back to the smaller models. I still have my 13 PM tucked away in case I feel the need to re-supersize.

side note: I thought the squared off edges of the 12/13/14 were sexy as hell vs the rounded edges of the 11 Pro Max. Turns out the rounded edges make it much easier to hold and use the phone for me, especially with the Apple silicone and leather cases.

Good story. Yes once you go max it’s hard to give up that immersive experience. For me that’s e-mails, sports, reading online or just editing my photos. I find all this much more enjoyable on a max. 😀

Having smaller hands for a man it was and still my preference for the Pro size. I had the XS then the 12 Pro and my current phone a 14 Pro. I am older and I like the muscle memory of the Pro size with 6.1” screen.

I had the larger sized iPhones until the XS Max. Just over the top heavy for me and it was an awful phone with no connectivity due to the Intel modem. I returned it. Have gone with the smaller Pro model since.

Yearly upgrader here. I was always using the „non Max“ Phones, year after year.
Until last year: Last year, I did the switch from the 13 Pro to the 14 Pro Max. After some minutes, I asked myself why I did not do that years before 🤣

I simply loooove the Max size and will never go back! Definitely will be going 15 Pro Max this fall!
