According to Apple Insider (which has been fairly accurate lately...), it looks like the 'Mac Pro' won't be Apple's last Intel conversion. Apparently, a replacement to the eMac is in the works.

The replacement will reportedly use an LCD, rather than a CRT, display, and will be based off of the iMac G5 design. Internally, however, it will use similar hardware as the Mac Mini and MacBook (re: integrated graphics).

Currently, AI is unaware of whether the replacement eMac will be sold as a consumer product as well as direct-to-school sales. Personally, there is some room for a computer with higher specs (and an integrated monitor) than the Mac Mini but with lower specs (and maybe a smaller monitor) than the iMac. It would be great to see a complete-redesign, but AI makes it sound like it will look similar to the iMac Intels.

What do you all think???
