I wouldn't return them for that. You can smooth that with some fine grained sandpaper. I did that with my AirPods Pro and it made them much more comfortable.

I don't have that on mine, I'd probably take some very fine sand paper to them. I know if I sent them back they'd probably go to landfill.

If they sound good and don’t have the coil-whine issue, certainly a keeper. My AP2 had a visible seam and my AP3 do. Unless that scratches your ears I’d not worry.
