I have a Apple TV 4K 2021 hooked up to a TV and surround sound through an AV receiver. I recently bought an Philips TAW6505 speaker with Airplay 2 (and Chromecast) hoping to both extend the Apple TV’s sound to other rooms and play music through my iPhone.
I can’t however get it to work properly. 90% of the time the speaker and Apple TV won’t play at the same time (it says they are playing but no sound is coming out of both or just one) and 10% of the time it randomly works but it’s terribly out of sync (like 1-2 seconds).
Is this a feature that should work (or so I need to resort to Chromecast, which works perfectly fine)? Is it the Apple TV’s or Philips speakers fault? Any other ideas how to get both Airplay and Chromecast sound in my whole appartement?
