AirPods 3 on Android

Just bought my partner the AirPods 3 for her birthday which work fine to hear but when trying to talk on the phone, no one can hear her.

She’s on Android but haven’t found anything to say that they wouldn’t work with the mics.

She’s ticked the phone call box on settings and that’s not helped.

Anyone have any suggestions?
