airport problem and ibook

i have a Snow Airport and my power mac connects fin. however, my ibook refuses to connect even after a complete system reinstall. it just stopped working one day. both have tiger. i have tried everything but the ibook refuses to connect. my dad wants to take it to the apple store but the apple care just ended on it. anyone have any suggestions on what to do? also, how much would apple charge you think to fix the problem?

All the experiences I've had with Apple clerks have been awesome. Since the apple care just ended, they might check it out for free.
I got my iBook from a pawn shop, and they helped me sooo much.
Then again, I did bring them cookies to sweeten the deal.
