AirTag sharing

I bought a AirTag so i can see where my son is and I set it up with my iPhone 12 and then I shared the AirTag with my sons Apple ID Which is a child’s account but on my sons ipad 9 it doesn’t say anything about accepting the request to see the AirTag

• The person you share with must have an Apple ID and be signed in to iCloud with their Apple ID. You can’t share with a child account.
