Any options for forgotten passcode?

Hi all,
I have an iphone 5 that I'd forgotten about but I suspect has some recordings that would now be very sentimental for me. It's not backed up on icloud or any version of itunes that I can still access. I was positive I knew the passcode but it's not working, I've tried a few others but I'm worried about hitting 10 and getting locked out forever. The phone is registered with the same Apple accounts I still use and it seems like there should be some way to prove I own the phone... I gather that Apple won't do anything if I go to the store, but is there any other route? Can data retrieval specialists pull the voice memos and photos off the phone? Is there some app I could buy? I've googled around a bit but it's really hard to figure out if anything is legit. I don't actually care about the phone at all, just would love to get a few files off it. I did try Find my Phone and it's not showing up since it's not connected to my current wifi.

In case anyone else finds this useful: I tried plugging this old phone into an old Macbook Pro 5.5, running OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, and I was able to view most of the audio stuff on the phone though Itunes. I couldn't back up any of the files without the passcode, and the voice memos I was most hoping to access won't play for some reason (only one of these files seems to work.... Idk) but at least I was able to see most of what's there. Yay for having some old tech around!

I ran into this problem personally. The company phone makes me change every 90 days the passcode and I forgot the new passcode. I had to restore the whole device and then load the last back-up. There are no other solutions.

In my situation because the phone was old (iphone 5) I was able to view all the audio files through iTunes on an old Macbook. I tried plugging my new iphone (2022 SE) into the old computer and it didn't work, so I think it's an old tech to old tech loophole.

It's not a loophole, it's due to the fact that the old computer and the iPhone in question have been paired as "trusted". Hence, the iPhone will connect and transfer some data via USB without unlocking.
