Searched high and low and am at my wits' end. I need certain apps for work (Zoom, Quizlet..) and both these websites are less than helpful.
Can't seem to find Mavericks upgrades in the App Store either.

I'm not the most tech-savvy, but not entirely ignorant either... I'd really appreciate ANY help anyone could give me. Thanks in hopeful advance. :(

Info of Macbook (if helpful...)
Processor
2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB
Software OS X 10.8.5 (12F2560)

So Calif
If the Macbook is a 2012 or higher, consider going up to High Sierra, Mojave or Catalina - will run much more website driven content...

Definitely skip past Mavericks. Without knowing exactly which model computer you have I can't be certain which operating system is the maximum for it, but High Sierra will be compatible and will work fine. Mavericks is obsolete and many apps will not work with it either.

Mavericks is not available unless you downloaded it in 2013-14. Other than this there is no legal way to get Mavericks than to buy a new computer with it preloaded.

Thanks guys, very helpful. @Wowfunhappy - it's a company macbook - they said 'no'. Sorry! But thanks anyway!
Wow, that's bad. Your company is relying on an operating system that hasn't had a security update since August 2015 and can't run current browsers or many other applications which still get security updates.

(Mavericks can run current Firefox, but yes, I find this situation totally bizarre.)

May be an older thread:

I need a Mavericks installer, so I can have the experience. But, have some things I wished I had while staying on the OS X 10.9 platform. Can I get a Clean Installer of it, and will it work with Mountain Lion since I have 10.8.5 when I bought my MacBook Pro?

(Edit: I created another HDP on my Mac, so I just need to dualboot on it and it'll work fine)
