HomePod any way to disable upgrade nags?

i just bought a HomePod mini because my appleTV no longer wants to be a thread border router after the upgrade to tvos16.5.

thread is back, but the HomePod is now trying to upgrade to 16.5 as well. i don't want to do this in case there really is a bug in 16.5. but HomeKit on all my devices keeps giving me notifications that there's an update available for the HomePod.

is there any trick to disable this nag?
