I got a new MacBook Air today. All is great except for a very strange issue which is kind of bugging me: the name of the computer in About this Mac is in... Estonian?!

I have to say I'm perplexed. I used Monolingual to uninstall unneeded languages but it didn't seem to have had an effect.

Any thoughts? It's completely harmless but it's kind of bugging me. The display model at the store did the same thing, for what it's worth.

If anyone was curious, I rectified this by opening /users/*user*/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SystemProfiler.plist and changing the name of the computer.

No idea why it appeared as such to begin with, but it's in English now.

I have the same issue.
However, by changing whatever you did doesn't change it in the main "about" window.
Any suggestions?

Thanks

I don't know if you've rebooted, but it didn't take effect until I did so.

Yeah, a couple of times....no effect:confused:

After each reboot the document reverses back to the Estonian name.

I even locked the document and now it always has my changes, but the about window still shows the Estonian stuff....
