I'm in the market for a Honda Accord and trying to decide if it's worth getting the 2014 model with Honda's ugly infotainment system but which can be updated to include Siri Hands Free integration vs waiting to see if the 2015 model gets the full Carplay integration.
I was at a local dealer yesterday and sat in a 2014 Civic with Carplay but the dealer did not have the hdmi cable so I couldn't get a feel for how well the system works. I have to say the touchscreen-only interface threw me off (coming from all knobs and buttons in my '02 Civic).
So has anyone used the Carplay in a new Civic in real world conditions?
Any issues with having maps stream onto the large screen while driving? I heard some reports that this aspect was crippled by Honda so that no live streaming of video (including maps) occurred while vehicle was in motion.
Thanks!
