Hi all,

I want to edit occasionally Word files (docx) in iPad. Is there recommended alternative (other than Ms Office 365)? Years ago, I bought Documents To Go but seems it has been discontinued. Thanks you!

If you have an Outlook account and have an old iPad "classic", Office is free.

To create or edit documents, sign in with a free Microsoft account on devices with a screen size smaller than 10.1 inches.

I have been using the Apple apps since retiring about 2 years ago. Recently I started exploring OpenOffice due to it working across both Apple (MacOS and iOS) plus Linux since I have started using that on a couple of specific use laptops. So far it seems just as competent as the MS Office apps for basic stuff. Not nearly as user friendly as the Apple apps.

Easy and Simple:

Apple Pages = MS Word
Apple Numbers = MS Excel
Apple Keynote = MS PowerPoint

They call it iWork
