I believe it's called 12 days of Xmas and I found the app in my purchased section from last year. It should start after Xmas day.

Googling around, it appears Apple has decided to be Scrooge this year.
Scrooge became a very generous man.
Wasn't the app called 12 days of gifts last year?
It isn't working, because there is no app (or giveaway) this year.
I believe the person you replied to was trying to point out, that people shouldn't be complaining in the first place, much less expect something for nothing at Apple's expense.

I have the app installed on my iPad. I was only pointing out that it wasn't working this year, obviously because they aren't running the promotion this time.

Apparently, there was a whining and a gnashing of teeth, over last year's gifts. Doesn't it suck when the the negativity of others effects you?
Everyone complained about the crappy apps last year.
