I'm not sure when it happened, but The advanced typography options no longer work for me in Pages or Notes, but it is still working in TextEdit. Access in one of the apps menu: Format/Fonts/Show Fonts/Gear Icon/Typography. I can't get any of the variants to work except in TextEdit. Example fonts with variants are: Zapfino, Hoefler, Apple Chancery.
Speaking of Apple Chancery, has this disappeared from the standard fonts menu for anyone else? It disappeared for me some update ago, but by going into Font Book and adding it to a font group, I can see it in that group in other apps in the "fonts" window.
