I have been thinking about jumping ship to Android for a while, but the Apple ecosystem tends to keep me locked in.
I won't go into detail on that; I have opened other discussions around that.

For this thread specifically, I am currently using an iPhone 14 Pro, but have 100% of my home automation done with Google Home and Google Assistant vs Apple Home Kit and Siri. I also have a shortcut to say "Hey Siri, ask google to turn on the bedroom" and it works flawlessly every time.

So far, specifically with plugs and lights, Apple connection breaks at least one a week at which point I need to reset, but after over a month of using Google Home on an iPhone, it works flawlessly. So, I have decided to dump Homekit for Google Home.

Has anyone had any long-term experience with this kind of setup? Is it worth investing in?
