i used to be a big apple person. i started on a Power PC running OS 7 in 1996. i LOVED apple for many years. now i hate it. nothing works correctly, like before about 2010. everything used to "just work" and it was intuitive. now, everything is a problem, it seems. from my apple TV, to itunes, to my iphone to my macbook pro. and i've not been really very happy with any operating system since about snow leopard.

here's the lastest apple screw up. i asked the finder to sort my lists on the created date. i had a bunch of screen shots and here's how the OS sorts them (OS 10.11.4):

apparently apple programmers don't know that am times should come before pm times on the same date. their sort algorthim MIGHT make sense if i were using 24 hour clock but it doesn't make work with a 12 hour clock. to determine that simple piece of logic, apple would have to have a BRAIN, but i guess when Jobs died, he took the only brain in the company with him...

sorry for being negative but what once was a great company that i loved has turned into a bunch of bumblers who don't know what they're doing. and it appears that they don't care as long as they're making lots of $$.

i don't like apple anymore and it's heartbreaking, actually. it didn't used to be like this. :(

Sort by creation date, problem solved.

According to your screenshot, the list is (correctly) sorted by name.

Not so sure that is right either, actually.

Unless the spacing is really strange in the font, there doesn't appear to be an extra space before the "6" in either of the first two names. "1" comes before "6" last I checked...

Don't blame Apple, blame yourself. You sorted by name not by date created. It did exactly what you wanted by sorting by name.

[doublepost=1501341029][/doublepost]One of the problems is that thry are changing basic functions of the user interface every time and eventually this is srlf destructive in two ways:
1) user frustration that he has to relearn something basic that worked
2) technical complexity expands unnecessarily, undermining stability.
This is why I moved away ftom Microsoft blue screen culture from their updates in the 90s. When updates crash your computer it is QA problem! Bill Gates never delivered on his promises of true interoperability between basic office functions in any case. The lesson of monopolies!

Part of QA is what you do not let programmers change for the sake of change!

Vendors are moving to cloud based apps because they believe in part it solves their QA. Problem more fundamental-it is about discipline of ehat you change and leave alone!

No, it’s not, never sorting by name resulted in the intended result.

It behaves exactly as expected.
