This app is currently malfunctioning for me—it’s frozen in a white grid semi-downloaded position. If I delete the app and redownload it will I have lost my playlists/library? If so, is there another way to deal with the white grid issue?

I don't think you will lose your library, but I would chat with Apple Support to make sure

I found I could delete the app and redownload it without losing anything.

Glad you found the solution!!

But also, if you think about it, all that stuff is stored in iCloud. If the app was deleted it would delete anything local to the device (music downloads, but not your library). That’s how it can sync to any other devices you’re using Apple Music on and signed into the same iCloud account with. ;)

Please, correct me if I’m wrong about any of this.
