The Apple Pencil 1 never worked with USB-C iPads designed for use with the Apple Pencil 2. You could not pair it, because the only way to pair the Apple Pencil 1 is to connect it to the Lightning port on the iPad. That's obviously not possible with a USB-C iPad (Pro/Air).
Now Apple released the ridiculously awkward USB-C to Lightning adapter for connecting the Apple Pencil 1 to the 10th-generation iPad (which won't work with the Pencil 2 even though it's a USB-C iPad).
Obviously, this new adapter can be used to physically connect the Apple Pencil 1 to other USB-C iPads as well, and therefore it should be possible to use the old Pencil with the iPad Pro or Air—if Apple did not deliberately block that possibility via software.
Does anyone know if it works or not?
