Cool if it's is true.

Backing up Don't panic, here's the whois info on iphone.org. Funnily Cisco own iphone.net. Emarkmonitor are also the registrar on Apple.com so they do have a genuine relationship with Apple. Note the create date is Dec 1999.

I'm sure they copywrite everything with even the remotest chance of use later. We may see iPizza, i7iron, iScrapple... insert any word. (iInsert is already taken, as is iPizza)

I live in a giant bucket!
At first I thought this was bogus when I first heard it about a year ago. But now it seems more and more like this is becoming a legitiment possibility.

Apple has already been in discussions with Moto to put iTunes on phones... why unless an Apple was up to something like an iPhone made by Moto.

This iPod flash gets rumored around so much but maybe its not an iPod. Maybe they put a flash drive on a cell phone. That seems more Apple than ANOTHER iPod.

And really Apple's just not listening to the people who really want some sort of palm pilot or newton. I know Steve said that Palm pilots were dead, but look at how many smart phones that are out there now. Palm pilots didn't really die, they just became phones.

Anyway my 2 cents. :D

Apple missed out on this one: iScrapple

Interesting to see this aged (2 years) discussion about the iPhone name, when it ended up coming to a head between Linksys/Cisco and Apple this year with the iPhone announcement.

iScrapple.... mmmmm....

The only thing that disappoints me with the iPhone is the wait!
