Apple Store - Refurbished Products

I am debating making a puchase from the Apple Store - Refurbished section (they have an iBook 600Mhz, 100 Mhz Bus, DVD, 15 gig, 128mb for $1299).

They offer a one year warranty, with the 3 yr APP option.

Anyone have experience with refurbished apple stuff??? Can i expect a scratched up product, or will it just be an open box/return type deal?
