When I go to Arcade using my Apple TV, it says 'Welcome back.. xxxxx' but it uses a username I don't think I've ever used with my Mac account. I don't actually know how Arcade is detecting this username as it's really old and one I've barely used.

Where does the 'welcome back' username come from and how could I change/update it??

It's a random greeting made of two words (I think in the Adjective + Noun format, like Tall Llama). It's not actually a username. I find it annoying and confusing but rest assured it's not an actual handle.

Edit: Based on your response I guess I'm talking about something else.

Have you got an iPhone, if so you can try changing it via the Game Center settings.
Mine displays exactly as I have it set here.

No it's definitely not random - it's a very specific username I once used but not on mac.com

SOLVED! It was in the Game Center settings on an iPod Touch I use, thanks -Gonzo-
