Anybody still rocking an ATV 3gen in 2021? According to Apple.com it should able to used for watching Apple TV+.
I just want a easy/cheap way for my old mother to see Apple TV+ programs & iTunes movies (Family sharing) on her now old but still good enough former top-of-the-line Sony FHD tv (a hand-down from me). She is a avid user of the iPad for everything including Netflix + chromecast, and would be happy to use the Apple TV app on the iPad if chromecast support was available here. As the new Apple TV 4K is overkill for her needs, and used ATV HD/4K here are advertised at almost the same price as a new model (Scandinavia). I was looking into getting her a dirt cheap ATV 3gen for the above use only.
Recommended or not?
