iPhone XS Max Apple upgrade vs Resale value

Has anyone figured out what the best deal is with a 1 yr old XS Max 256GB? Is it better at this time to just do the upgrade or pay off the loan and resell the phone?

Values have gone down from back in the day when it can be flipped for profit. I do the iUP so I don’t have to worry about scams and selling. But to each is own, but my vote if to just upgrade and be done.

My XS (256 TMobile) payoff after 12 payments is $724. I probably could get more for it if I sold it but what's my time worth? (Plus I get to keep the charger, headphones and cable.)

Just doing a quick Ebay search you can buy the XS Max 256gb for ~$700. Apple will give you $600 for the phone. To me, the $100 is worth the hassle free aspect. Apple is actually giving good trade in values now, and the second hand market isn't what it was 3+ years ago.
