I bought an iPad for my daughter on October 20th, without AppleCare+ as I figured I could activate this on device up to 60 days later, closer to Christmas when she’d actually receive it, and not pay for coverage while it was sitting in a box.
When I explained this plan to a sales assistant he laughed and said it doesn’t work like that and that the coverage would start from the purchase date.
We’ll lo and behold, I activated it on December 17th anyway and the coverage starts from this date (ending Dec 19th 2025).
