How do I boot up AppleTV to the main menu? Do not like having their now playing at start up. Want to boot up to the main menu with the apps. Is that option gone ?

It’ll boot up to whatever was the last place you turned it off at.
If that’s where you turned it off then that’s what you’ll get upon switch on.
If you want it to boot up to the homescreen then just make sure you’re on the homescreen first before switching off.

In addition to what @-Gonzo- said you can also add tv to your shortcuts and have it open whatever you want. I have mine set to my “When Waking Up” Personal Automation.

You're not actually booting it up. The Apple TV simply goes into sleep mode when you "turn it off" so it will come back to the last screen you had open when you wake it back up.
