I bought an IS but have not applied it yet because I think the screen is pretty scratch resistant without it (see my post about dropping on asphault without scratching) and I use iPod socks as a cases. My question is... for those of you with an IS does it reduce the amount of finger prints?? That is my only complaint and I think the only reason that I would apply my IS. The back of mine is already screwed, I put it on my laminated desk at work the 2nd day I had it and when I picked it up I slid it about and inch and there were about 1000 scratches on it already.

with the BSE skin on, I have drastically reduced the amount of finger prints and streaks on the screen. a simple wipe takes off the little bit that does appear. it stays cleaner much longer.

Haa too late for one of these I guess. My screen gets covered, wiped and covered again, then there's the back.. nothing buy scratches on it already.

Ah well.

Well what a cock up that was :( I got the front and the back on without problems, no bubbles, but I can't get the edges to stick down and I've run out of the spray.

Am I the only one who only got half a tube of the stuff?

the edge won't stick until the solution dries a little first

You just convinced me. I took the plunge (albeit not a very expensive one) and ordered a total body shield from BSE. Should prevent me from getting all the smudges on the screen.

Yeah I realised that, I wish they had said that in the instructions/video, I wouldn't have wasted so much solution trying to get them to stick if that were the case nor would I have caused some bubbles to form trying to get them to stick :(

Still it isn't too bad, not as good as it could have been though. I'll leave it a week or two and see how it is, might get another one now I know how to apply the thing properly.

Is the home button stiff for anyone else?

oops, didn't realise that pixalmator puts a watermark on it when using the trial

I've applied the IS, and initially there was some miniscule bubbles which disappeared after half a day.

One discovery that i had, was that with the IS on, i can stick it to any glossy and smooth surface like tiles and glass/mirror, and the iPod will not fall off! This is particularly useful as my desktop has a mirror in front of me and i can stick it on and use it for hours.:)

Haven't put my InvisibleShield on yet. I got my Invisible Shield but it was damaged out of the box, like someone made a crease in it. I am mailing back and forth with Zagg about getting a new one. But it takes some time because they don't respond fast:eek:This sucks, but I bet I'm all happy when I get a good one and my iPod Touch doesn't get scratched.

I've never used an IS product.

I have, however, used the BSE on a number of iPods - 4, to be exact. I never had my 2nd gen Nano in a case, and routinely (like every weekday after my work commute) threw it into my pocket with my keys. I just went and looked through my past emails - I ordered that skin in Januray of '06, so that means that skin was on there for almost 2 years. I finally peeled the skin off this week, as it was starting to fray at the edges and look a bit dirty.

Pristine. Almost 2 years in my pocket and just thrown in my computer bag with all the other crap without a case on it, and the thing looks like it just came out of the box.

So, is the IS better? Maybe - I have no idea, as I've never used it. Does it need to be better than what I just described, especially at 5 times the price? That's for you to decide.
