I really miss talking on chat.yahoo.com since I switched to Macs.

I have tried visiting the site with both Safari and Internet Explorer, but I get the same errors.

Are there any other browsers that work with Yahoo chat on the Mac?

You need a third-party app such as chitchat, zinc, etc. Just google it.

That's a shame. I tried ChitChat and found it unusable. You would think that with the popularity of the Mac platform, Yahoo would do something to vix the problem.

have you tried Camino or Firefox?

You should email yahoo about that, they're neglecting part of their user base.

Edit: i just tried camino, it works.

If camino works, that means that firefox and mozilla should work as well, since they're all based on the same client.

Okay I tried both Camino and Firefox. Firefox didn't work at all. Camino allowed you to chat to the whole room, but didn't work with 1 on 1 chats... :(

Does it connect to the Yahoo chat rooms?

Screw yahoo chat rooms, I personally have a vendetta against non standards compliant websites.

Think of it this way, you don't want to pick up a chick who is a Windoze user

yahoo chat rooms

I believe netscape works well with the java client.

I remember going through all of the browsers to find the one that worked best.

However, chitchatx+adium became more viable with the last version of chitchat.

I have emailed yahoo about the same thing in the past and was told they had no plans at the time to add the chat to yahoo for mac, but they would notate that I had asked for it.

What errors are you getting? I just tried it with Safari 2 on OS X 10.4.3 and it worked.

Not that I don't beileve you, but what you are saying is improbable. I have all the latest software installs from Apple and it still doesn't work.

Are you sure we are talking about the same Yahoo chat rooms?

chat.yahoo.com

The page I get when I click on the link to enter the chat rooms is a page made up of a frameset with 3 sections. Each section just keeps flashing and disconnecting me from the room.
