I am getting ready to purchase a Quicksilver tower, and I was wondering:
is it really worth is to get the Geforce4mx when I am not doing any graphics work? Is the ATI good enough? Thanks

Go with the ATI... if you find later that you would like to upgrade to something that has higher specifications, then it will hurt less since the ATI card will take some cost away from the cpu.

I know that I will be going for the ATI card when I purchase my new tower (waiting for G5 or MWSF whichever comes first). If they are not shipping with what I want, and can get elsewhere, then I will go with the cheapest one from Apple and just replace it.

Spend the money you are saving by getting the ATI card and drop it into memory before the prices go higher.

another vote for ATI. THe Nvidia MX series cards are terrible. I would save the money and go with the Radeon 7500. The performance between the two, even in 3D apps, is not noticeable.

2D quality has been historically better on ATI cards over Nvidia's as well.
