Apple TV atv2 jailbreak = 1080p?

i know the atv3 supports 1080p and the atv2 is only 720p.

i was wondering if you jailbreak a atv2 can support 1080p and what plugin is required?

No, the tv3 has a newer chip that supports 1080p res. Also has double the memory.

It also handles them very well, just what you see is not as sharp as could be. Here is hoping they work out a jailbreak for ATV3.

it doesn't need to be jailbroken to be able to play 1080p files.
it plays 1080p files fine "out of the box" - just outputted at 720p.

ATV can take 1080p sources and play them, however the output will always be max out at 720p, it is hardware limitation and it cannot be change by jailbreaking.
