Audio levels not changing in FCPX

Just finished creating a video in FCPX. I've been using it for about a year now, and have never had any problems until now. I rendered a video, and when I played in in QT, the background music was too loud. No problem, I simply went back into FCPX, lowered the volume, and rendered another video.

The background music is STILL too loud, even after five renderings. In all the years I've been using PP, Vegas, I've never had this issue. Does anyone know what's going on?
